Dear Friend:

Dylan was invited to youth group at his local Covenant church by some of his school friends.  His family did not attend church and he was pretty wary of anything to do with Jesus, church and/or faith.  But, he eventually came to youth group, enjoyed the fellowship and fun, and became a regular attender.  Some of the kids began to tell him about how much they loved Camp Squanto, and encouraged him to join them that summer for a week at camp.  It was clear that money was going to be a challenge, but through the generosity of the Squanto Scholarship Fund, he was able to attend.

While at camp, Dylan not only experienced the joy and energy of a week at camp, but also the love and care of the staff.  He heard the good news of Jesus Christ, and made the decision to accept that gift of grace for his own life.  That week at camp became a hinge moment in Dylan's life that deeply impacted not only him, but many others.  Dylan became the catalyst for his entire family beginning to attend church.  He invited other friends to youth group, some of whom also ended up attending Camp Squanto.

This is another wonderful example of the strong and healthy connection between Pilgrim Pines and our East Coast Covenant Churches. We are truly better together.

One barrier that Pilgrim Pines has chosen to eliminate as a reason for campers to not attend camp is the matter of finances. We strongly believe that every child deserves to experience the transformative growth that takes place at camp, regardless of his or her financial means.

Last year alone, we awarded over $28,000 in scholarship funds to campers in need – almost draining our scholarship fund entirely and yet no campers were turned away.

As a friend of Pilgrim Pines, we’re asking you to partner with us in this endeavor to fill our scholarship fund so we can offer Christian camping to children and families who would otherwise not be able to attend. Your choice to give in this way is a tangible and direct partnership in our ministry, meeting a real and growing need. Please consider how you might return the blessing that Pilgrim Pines has been in your own life.

Thank you for your prayer, support, and passion to see God’s will be done at Pilgrim Pines!
