Pilgrim Pines Camping Area Pet Policy
Please read the following policy carefully to understand pet guidelines for the Pilgrim Pines Camping Area. This policy is subject to change at any time, so please check back periodically for updates.
For the 2026 camping season, pets are being permitted on a trial basis and will be evaluated during and after the season.
Allowed Pets
Guests may bring common household pets such as dogs and cats to the camping area. No other animals are permitted, including livestock, poultry, reptiles, insects, or exotic pets.
Maximum of two (2) pets per campsite.
Pets must weigh 60 lbs or less.
Registration & Identification
All pets must be registered with the office prior to or upon arrival.
Please complete the Pet Registration Form prior to arrival.
Vaccination records must be uploaded with the Pet Registration Form.
Pets must wear a collar with owner identification and a phone number.
Leash & Supervision Requirements
Pets must be kept on a leash and under direct control at all times.
E-collars, e-leashes, or similar devices do not qualify as being leashed under this policy.
Pets may not be tied or left unattended at any time.
Behavior Expectations
For the safety and comfort of all guests:
No noisy, aggressive, vicious, unruly, poisonous, or venomous pets are allowed.
Owners must remove pets from the camping area if they cannot be properly controlled.
Local animal control authorities may be contacted if necessary.
Owner Responsibility
Pet owners are fully responsible for their animals, including any injuries or damages caused.
Owners are expected to address any incidents directly with affected parties.
Pilgrim Pines is not responsible for injuries or damages caused by pets.
Clean-Up Requirements
Guests must clean up after their pets at all times.
All waste must be properly disposed of in designated trash receptacles.
Any cleanup costs incurred by Pilgrim Pines will be charged to the guest.
Restricted Areas
Pets are not permitted outside the camping area, including but not limited to:
Buildings (including bathrooms and lodge)
Fields and playgrounds
Snack shack
Beach and waterfront areas
Sports courts
Rental Units and Bunkhouses
Other amenities or common areas
Service Animals
Service animals are permitted to accompany individuals with disabilities, in accordance with applicable guidelines.
Proof of disability or service animal certification may be required.
Service animals are discouraged from entering buildings and other restricted areas where pets are not allowed.
Compliance
Guests who do not comply with this policy may be asked to leave the camping area and will not receive a refund.

This pet policy is being implemented on a trial basis for the 2026 camping season and will be reviewed during and after the season.
